What is Club Volleyball?

What is Club Volleyball?

                Like many other sports out there Volleyball also has a club system of teams, they vary in size, cost and time associated with them.

Who runs Club Volleyball?

                There are 2 major governing bodies for Volleyball AAU and USA Volleyball both are organized geographically.  The Region for USAV is Keystone Regional Volleyball Association or KRVA, and AAU is Mid Atlantic.

Isn’t Club just for Girls?

                NO!  Every year approximately 150,000 boys play club volleyball across the country.  Many clubs in the area cater exclusively to one gender, but that is beginning to change dramatically.  With the addition of the PCL, and aggressive growth plan for our region from USAV we expect that number to grow.

What is the Cost?

                Every club has its’ own costs associated with it.  Typically there is a tryout fee, club fee and what each family is responsible for, which usually includes travel, hotel and meals to tournaments.  A good range is usually $500-$1200

How long is the season?

                Club Volleyball runs from October through March and then From June until the 4^th of July.  The brief pause is for PIAA volleyball.

Where and when are tournaments?

                Local tournaments happen within about 2 hrs away.  Better teams may travel to Bid tournaments and Nationals in Rochester, Chicago, Orlando, Penn State or Saint Louis.  Locals are usually one day a Saturday or Sunday and the Bid Tournaments are 2-3 days.  Nationals are 5 days over the 4^th of July.
