Playing over the Summer

Thank you for everyone who attended the Parents meeting this evening I hope that it helped out a little. A few things I am going to post here so that we have it.

1. Play as much as possible. If you are going to the shore find a net, bring a ball and play. For outdoor volleyball use a Spalding King of the Beach outdoor volleyball. They are around $45 online, sometimes you can find them cheaper. If you stay around here play in grass tournaments. Also we will have Open gyms and possibly a BBQ and mixer with the girls team.

2. Play in Juniors, Men's B and Men's BB ONLY, BB will be very challenging as they use "old school rules" to play. If you need a partner let me know. The only time you or another adult cannot play with your son is Juniors Divisions.

3. Attend a Camp or Clinic-There are quite a few around here 1. Pottstown Rumble Misty May Dream in Gold Clinic; 2. Pat Powers at Renegades Gym in Horsham; 3 Panther Volleyball Camp for High schoolers; 4 GPS Crush Gold Medal Squared Camp for High schoolers.

4. All equipment is not necessary, I would also say investing in an outdoor net is a good idea for anyone.  Volleyball is a life long sport and can be played by the whole family.  Good ones usually run for about $300, but well worth it.  Other wise a number of parks have sand courts that are good to play on too.  (Bush Park-Doylestown, Mandauck-Upper Dublin, Carpenter-Horsham,Tyler-Richboro, Drexel University-Philadelphia)

5.  Any questions or concerns please feel free to email Viking Men's Volleyball

Remember to have fun and play!
