CB East, Palumbo and E&S

CB East

The Vikings took a break from PCL play to take on Non league opponents.  Wood traveled to East to take on the Patriots of the tough SOL Continental. Wood was neck and neck the whole way through dropping the first set 25-21.  In Set 2 it was more of the same back and forth which saw the Vikings lose 25-23.  Set 3 was very tightly contested, but with the match on the line, the Vikings took the set 26-24.  The 4th was more of the same but this time Wood dropped the match 25-23.

Academy At Palumbo

Wood traveled to the City to take on Academy at Palumbo, currently the second place team in the Public League (Current AA leader).  Wood came away with a hard fought win in straight sets taking down Palumbo 25-17, 25-21, 25-19.

E & S

In a rematch of the District 12 title game last year the Engineers came to Wood for an afternoon match.  Wood came out strong in the first set winning 25-14.  In the second E & S came back strong, but the Vikings managed to pull out the win 25-17.  The third set was a bit closer seeing Wood and E &S playing closely until 15-15.  Wood then used a 10-3 run to close out the game and the set.

Wood returns to action next week against Council Rock North on Tuesday, Cardinal O'Hara Thursday and a Tri match with Roman Catholic and Salesianum on Saturday.
