Today Archbishop Wood traveled to Delaware County to take on the Lions of Cardinal O'Hara in a very close match. Wood pulled out the win in 3, but not before being challenged often by the Lions. In the first set the Vikings saw themselves fall a bit behind to start but once again rallied behind Dave Lehmann and some great serving to eek out the win 26-24. The second set saw the Vikings take advantage of the close win and roll through O'Hara by a score of 25-14. This was a whole effort by the entire Viking squad. The third set was a bit more of a see-saw battle between the teams with 4 different lead changes. In the end Wood comes away with the win 25-23 by a roll to the open court by Matt Miller.
The Vikings are now 4-0 in Catholic League Play and 4-1 overall. There is a big test ahead on Wednesday when we take on crosstown rivals William Tennent. JV 5:30 and Varsity 7:00.
