William Tennent

Two schools that reside in the same town and are 10 minutes apart makes for a natural rivalry.  William Tennet having an established program and Archbishop Wood getting off the ground showed on Tuesday night in Warminster.  The Panthers got off to a fast start taking game 1 25-10.  The Vikings had no real answer for the service game of Tennent and played very tentatively to start.  After settling in Wood rattled off the first 6 points of set 2, but once again lost it on the serve receive game.  Game three saw the Vikings down and with nothing to lose, which got them a bit more aggressive.  They continued to push against Tennent and came up short but had a decent game at 25-16.  It should be noted that Chris Montague stepped up big in today's match going from new player 3 weeks ago to Varsity setter with the absence of Setter Chris Quaglia to an injury.  While a loss is still a loss it comes with a lesson the Vikings will not soon forget and carry with them through the rest of the season.
